NOTICE OF PRIVACY BREACH

Advanced Behavioral Centers of DuPage values its customers and respects the privacy of your information. We want to inform you that 465 patient email addresses were inadvertently unmasked via email communication sent out from our office. Advanced Behavioral Centers of DuPage regrets any inconvenience this may have caused.

What Happened?

Our office sent out a mass communication email to 465 patients on September 15, 2020, that did not correctly mask your email addresses. The accidental sharing of your email address occurred as one of our team members mistakenly utilized the Carbon Copied (Cc) function instead of using the Blind Carbon Copying (Bcc) function.

What Information Was Involved?

Upon Careful review of the incident, the only information shared was your email address.

What Are We Doing?

We have eliminated the use of mass emails to our clients without using third-party privacy software.

What Can You Do?

To protect yourself from email spamming, When an unsolicited email makes an appearance in your inbox, never delete it. Always mark it as spam. This is how the automatic spam filters learn to identify spam and filter it out.
